The Peer Exchange program allows the Hawaii Department of Transportation to participate in an exchange of information to improve research management processes with other states. In addition to research managers from other states, peer exchange participants include officials from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), professional associations, universities, or others. Peer Exchange conferences, held once every three years, provide participants opportunities to discuss ideas, methods and concepts and acquire knowledge that they can take back to their own states.
