The Research Development and Technology Transfer (RD&TT) program touches the lives of every citizen in the State of Hawaii every day, on every island. The successful transfer of technology to real-world transportation-related applications is our foremost goal, and practicality drives every research project.
The RD&TT program is at the forefront of exploring breakthrough solutions to alleviate drive-time traffic on Hawaii’s freeways; developing safer, longer lasting roads that require less maintenance; and taking proven processes and applying them in innovative ways to protect Hawaii’s fragile environment while accommodating more motorists.
